Features
Twelve ways to look at your disk. One single truth.
Every view comes from the same scan, so the numbers always add up.
Overview by category
Ten categories, from Apps to System, with the space they really take on disk.
Visual disk map NEW
An interactive sunburst of your whole disk. Click a ring to dive in, spot the giants at a glance.
Folder explorer
Browse your disk with every folder sorted by size. Find the culprit in three clicks.
File types
Group by kind and extension: ProRes video, RAW photos, .dmg, .zip… with custom filters.
Large & old
The biggest files you haven’t opened in ages, in a single list.
“System Data” explained NEW
The mystery gray bar, broken down: local snapshots, caches, swap, AI models and more.
Developer junk
node_modules, DerivedData, venv, simulators, Docker images. The gigabytes you forgot you had.
Login items NEW
See every login item, launch agent and daemon, who installed it, and switch off the ones you don’t need.
Quick Look preview NEW
Press space on any file to preview it before deleting. No guessing what “IMG_4821.mov” was.
Applications PAID
Every app with its hidden data in Library, and an uninstaller that takes it all.
Leftovers PAID
Preferences, caches and support files from apps you deleted long ago that are still hanging around.
Duplicates PAID
Files that are identical by content, not by name. You decide which copy stays.

See your whole disk at once NEW
The disk map turns millions of files into one picture. Hover to see sizes, click to zoom into a folder, and jump straight to the table view to act on it. Same risk labels, same safety rules.

“System Data”, finally explained NEW
Apple’s Storage settings lump it all into one gray bar. CleaMac shows what’s inside, what macOS will reclaim on its own, and what you can safely remove.

Safeguards
Built not to break anything. Not even by accident.
A cleaner that deletes the wrong thing is worse than no cleaner at all. CleaMac rates every item and tells you why.
Safe 🟢
Rebuilds itself or is obvious junk: caches, logs, DerivedData, installers you’ve already used. Simple mode only touches these.
Review 🟡
Might matter to you: videos, projects, libraries, Docker images. CleaMac shows them, but the call is yours.
Protected 🔴
System paths and critical items. Shown so you understand your space, but CleaMac won’t let you delete them.
System Integrity paths lockedNothing protected by SIP ever shows up as deletable. Ever.
Running apps are off-limitsYou can’t clean or uninstall an app while it’s open.
Everything goes to the TrashCleaMac never deletes permanently. It moves things to the Trash, just like you would.
Undo for every deletion, always freeEvery cleanup is logged and you can put files back where they were. Even on the free plan.
Look before you deleteQuick Look any file, plus what it is, who created it and what happens if you remove it.
Technical accuracy
Numbers you can trust. Built for APFS.
Many analyzers add up logical sizes and promise you gigabytes that don’t exist. CleaMac measures what you’d actually free up.

We measure allocated blocks, not apparent size. Sparse and compressed files count for what they really take.

If two paths point to the same data, it’s counted once. Totals never get inflated.

FAQ
Questions people ask us
How many Macs can I use it on?
Personal covers up to 2 Macs and Family up to 5. You manage them yourself: to move your license to a new Mac, deactivate the old one in CleaMac›Settings›License and activate the new one. No emails, no waiting.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Personal ($29 / €29) and Family ($49 / €49) are one-time payments with 12 months of updates included. Nothing renews automatically, ever.
What happens after 12 months?
CleaMac keeps working, forever, with every feature you bought. You just stop receiving new versions. If you want another 12 months of updates, you can renew at 50% of the price ($15 / €15 Personal, $25 / €25 Family) whenever you like. It’s optional, and it’s never automatic.
What counts toward the free 5 GB?
The total space CleaMac cleans for you on the free plan, added up across all your cleanups (it doesn’t reset monthly). Scanning, every view, filters, the disk map and the menu bar monitor are unlimited. Undo is always free.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If CleaMac isn’t for you, email info@cleamac.com within 30 days of purchase and we’ll refund you in full, no questions asked. Since the full scan is free, we recommend trying it first.
Is there an education discount?
Yes, 50% off for students and teachers. Write to info@cleamac.com from your school email address and we’ll send you a discount code.
Why does CleaMac ask for Full Disk Access?
macOS protects folders like Mail, Messages, Safari and other apps’ containers. Without that permission, any analyzer only sees part of your disk and the totals don’t add up: space just “disappears”.
With it, CleaMac can measure everything and find leftovers that would otherwise be invisible. Turn it on in System Settings›Privacy & Security›Full Disk Access, and turn it off whenever you like. Without it, CleaMac still works with what it can see and tells you what’s missing.
Do my files ever leave my Mac?
No. CleaMac analyzes everything locally. No file names, paths or contents are ever sent to any server. No account, no telemetry about your files.
The only network calls are update checks and, if you buy a license, license activation (your license key, an anonymous Mac identifier, the Mac’s name and model, and the app version).
Does it work offline?
Yes. Scanning and cleaning happen entirely on your Mac. A paid license checks in with our server every few days, and keeps working for 30 days without a connection, so flights and cabins are no problem.
What if I delete something I needed?
CleaMac never deletes permanently: everything goes to the Trash and is logged in your cleanup history, where you can undo it, on any plan. System items are protected and can’t be selected, and running apps can’t be cleaned or uninstalled.
How do I activate my license?
Right after checkout you’ll see your key on screen, and we’ll email it to you too. In the app:
Open CleaMac›Settings›License.
Click Paste.
Lost it? Email us from the address you used to buy and we’ll resend it.
Is CleaMac notarized by Apple?
Yes. CleaMac is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without warnings. Updates are signed too and installed through Sparkle.
Which Mac do I need?
macOS 14 Sonoma or later. CleaMac is native on Apple Silicon and also runs on Intel Macs.
